Our history

JOIERS BORRÀS
- CONTEMPORARY CRAFTED JEWELRY -
WILLIAM AND JORDI

Guillem and Jordi Borràs are two brothers, sons of jewelers, who grew up in their father's house-studio. Contact with the workshop, tools and metals has been part of their entire lives. They grew up among the stars, learning the trade from their father's hand. Guillem received his academic training at the School-Workshop of the Arts and Crafts of the Diputació de Tarragona, at the School of Jewelry of the Catalan Federation of Jewelers in Barcelona, and in drawing, nailing, engraving and enameling courses. Jordi Borràs received his education at the School of Art of Tarragona and the Escola Massana in Barcelona, later specializing in 3D creation. The two generations of jewelers have accumulated a large number of awards, recognitions and works linked to the city. In 1996 they set up their own workshop on Portalet Street in Tarragona, where they develop a modern, functional and minimalist jewelry store.

This family imprint has determined their project, since each JOIA BORRÀS comes from a family tradition, close, with character, lived, thought out and matured. Linked to art and Tarragona, they collaborate with everything that surrounds them, such as with the construction of the Baldequí for the Custody of the Corpus of the Cathedral of Tarragona (a modernist style work of two meters high and 50 kilograms in weight), one of the most emblematic jewels of their professional and cultural life in the city.

They are committed to design and new technologies, making jewelry in a conscious and local way. From their workshop they apply artisanal goldsmithing techniques and produce all the pieces by hand, making short runs.

They are the heritage of Mediterranean culture. For this reason, their artistic language projects pieces inspired by emblematic spaces, giving shape and volume to nature, the landscape and the cities that surround them.

They are from Tarragona and connect with the Mediterranean, elements that make them vibrate when thinking and creating each artistic jewel. These are concepts that inspire them every day in their small workshop in the upper part of Tarragona.
